Profile updates

Since launching the Alumnae Network in 2009, we've had requests for improvements to the way your profiles work. Previously, profiles showed almost no information until you went in and edited it. Since we understand that it can be difficult to edit your profile until you've done it a few times, we've added more default information to profiles. 

Now when you perform a directory or a career search, you will see a bit more information on the profile of the alumna you are looking up - including current city and state, and business city and state if we have that information.

Career Search updates

We've done some clean up on the Career Search page. We've gotten rid of some lesser-used fields that made search too confusing. 

Remember, when using any of our directory searches, start with a broad search on only one or two fields to start with and narrow down from there for the best results.

Exciting changes for Regional groups! Login to comment

We've made some exciting changes to the way regional groups work on the Alumnae Network. Before, you had to join a regional group in order to receive emails from that group or network with other alumnae in your area. In the new groups, we've sorted most alumnae into groups based on their regional location.

For most alumnae, you will now receive emails about group events and updates through these groups. You can adjust your email settings, or your membership in these groups by going to "My Class and Groups" and clicking on the name of the group you want to configure settings for. Once in the group, you can "Leave group" or "Unsubscribe from Group Emails". Please note that if you choose to leave the group or unsubscribe from emails, an administrator may not be able to add you back into the group if you change your mind in the future. You will need to visit the group again and manually join or subscribe to the emails. 

These new groups aren't perfect. If you had previously joined multiple regional groups, or you joined groups in regions outside of your primary region of residence, you will find that you are no longer part of those extra groups. You can still view other regional groups even if you are not a member by going to the Regional Groups page and following the links to the group(s) of your choice. We are looking into ways to add alumnae to groups outside of the region they live in, and if you are interested in that capability, please let us know in the comments below. 

If you have not been added to a regional group but there is a nearby group you would like to be a part of, please let us know.

We are committed to finding ways for our alumnae to receive information that is relevant and interesting to them, so we welcome your feedback on this new feature, as always. 
We've made some major changes to the way email settings work in the last few weeks. Now, instead of just choosing to receive newsletters or one-time emails, you can now customize your email settings based on topic categories. We hope that this makes it easier for you to receive the emails you want and stop receiving the emails you don't want.

We've also made some changes to the monthly newsletters we send in order to help you filter out the content you like to receive.

You can change email settings by going to "Edit my information" and choosing the "Email Settings" tab.

Alternatively, you can change your overall email settings on the Email Settings page that is linked at the bottom of every email and listed in the Help section.

To unsubscribe from a specific type of email, simply hit the unsubscribe button at the bottom and you will no longer receive that type of email (though subscriptions to all other email types will not be changed unless you manually change them using one of the two methods mentioned above.
