Reunion weekend is full of opportunities to connect with friends old and new. In addition to class dinners, the Annual Awards Luncheon and the Gala Dinner, the weekend features panels with faculty and alumnae speakers, informative workshops, class-specific discussion groups, and many more exciting events.


Awards to be Presented at Reunion

Each year Barnard honors extraordinary alumnae at Reunion

Alumnae from all years can make nominations, but honorees must be members of Barnard classes celebrating a milestone reunion in 2010. Nominations are reviewed by a committee of alumnae and awards are presented at the Annual Awards Luncheon and Gala Dinner during Reunion Weekend.

To nominate an alumna for an award:

  1. Download/complete the Nomination Form (PDF) online and return by fax to 212-865-1699, e-mail to reunion@barnard.edu (as an attachment), or mail to Vagelos Alumnae Center, 3009 Broadway, New York NY 10027
  2. Send an e-mail to reunion@barnard.edu with the name and class year of the nominee, and a few sentences about her background and reason for the nomination.
  3. Call 1-800-869-5061 or 212-854-2005 and provide the nominee’s name, class year, and brief background information for the basis of her nomination.

Deadline for all award nominations is December 1, 2009 .

To confirm whether an alumna is celebrating a milestone Reunion in 2010, please login and search the Alumnae Online Directory for alumnae from classes ending in 5 and 0.

Awards will be presented during Reunion. All are alumnae and their guests are welcome to attend award presentations and all other Reunion events.

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNA AWARD

The Distinguished Alumna Award was established in 1967 as a way to honor and inspire outstanding Barnard women. The award is given each year at Reunion to an alumna who personifies the ideals of excellence of a liberal arts education and who has achieved considerable public or professional distinction and recognition in her chosen field of endeavor. One or more awards can be given per year.

WOMAN OF ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The woman of achievement award was established in 1979 under the auspices of the Alumnae Reunion Committee. It is given to honor and acknowledge the recipient's excellence and achievement in her career and her dedication and contribution to the quality of life and the improvement of society. It is one of the highest honors the Alumnae Association bestows.
