Project Continuum: Women in Transition

Mission

Project Continuum: Barnard Woman in Transition addresses the needs of alumnae who are 50 and older. Several meetings of the steering committee are held during the year to discuss the issues of rewiring in professional, volunteer and social arenas. Program topics include financial planning, navigating the healthcare system, memory training, psychological issues and other areas of interest to participants.

Programming

The steering committee plans events throughout the New York City metro area, and is available to discuss program ideas to help support Project Continuum programs for Barnard regional networks.

This past year, programming included a faculty lecture series and trips to the Frick Collection and the Jewish Museum. In addition we offer opportunities to travel out of the metropolitan area with a group of Barnard woman. We’re currently planning the 2009-2010, calendar of events, and look forward to offering panels with a focus on Health and Wellness that will include professionals in allied areas relevant to our well being as we progress in years. Also planned are a series of visits to museums and places of interest “Off the Beaten Track”.
